I'll second the QuietPoint positive feedback, they work quite well. Without music, they give you some peace and quiet, although don't expect absolute silence. With music however (with the volume considerably lower than I need to have it with ordinary headphone sin order to block outside noise) they're simply brilliant. The noise is almost obliterated and the music is deep and rich, without needing to be loud. It's like being alone in a room listening to music from big high-quality speakers with some very vague and unobtrusive noise coming from far away and behind double-glazed windows.
